Kira’s not a baby anymore :(

OK, so this shouldn’t be sad, but our little girl really isn’t a baby anymore. She turned 2 on Sunday and had a really nice little party at our house to celebrate. Yesterday she started at her new daycare, too. We felt so happy dropping her off yesterday – and this morning. Something we haven’t felt since January. She was just really happy to be there and it is just such a much nice place to bring her. No treacherous stairs to climb. No packs of wild children running around. No garbage in the parking lot from a nearby ever-overflowing dumpster (mostly due to the discount furniture store on the first floor). Best of all when we picked her up yesterday she was playing on the swing set with two other kids and didn’t rush to us to leave. We also got to actually talk to the person who watched her all day. We also were halfway home when we looked at the clock realized that by that time we’d normally be picking her up from her old daycare and still have to make it back across town.

These past 2 years have gone by so fast. She’s our sparkley, happy little girl and we love her so much. I’m sad that I don’t see a baby anymore when I look at her, but I am also filled with amazement and love at how wonderful she is.
