I just read this on CNN:
“(CNN) — After months of not-so-coy will-he-or-won’t-he political flirtation, Fred Thompson has finally and officially announced that he is a candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination.”
My question is…does ANYONE CARE? Aside from the candidate of course. I just wonder why he think he has a chance in an already crowded field. Am I missing something?
Does anyone really know who the hell he is anyway?
I’m probably giving this too much of a brush off, but I’m really tired or reading these headlines about whether he will run or not. I mean come on…does he really bring anything new to the table? He’s just another older white dude on the Republican ticket. I’m just glad he finally announced so those who write these stupid headlines and seem to think we care whether this guy is in the game or not can stop speculating.

He brings nothing new to the table but he still scares me because I remember vividly the last time a mediocre actor announced his candidacy late amongst a pretty weak field.
His name was Ronald Reagan. He’s the reason that the 80s were so scary. (I could write an entire thesis etc on the relationship between Republican ideals, big hair, and shoulder pads in the 80’s, but who would want to read it?)
