Yup. We were so dejected Sunday after looking at a house in Kingwood. It looked promising fromt he photo and desciption and we thought for 80,000 it probably didn’t need *That* much work aside from updating, maybe new carpet, new paint. MMMMRRRR WRONG! Kitchen needed to be gutted and redone, new carpet thoughout, basement smelled damp, dehumidifier was running, mold on the basement wall on the slope, windows had water damage around the frames. For some reason one breaker box was in a bedroom and the other in the living room. For $60k we might have considered it and taken extra $$ to fix those problems.
SO
We are not sure what we’ll do aside from proceed with the survey for 5 acres off of mom’s property. We need 10% down to get a construction loan. We don’t have 10K lying around (assuming it’ll cost around $100,000), so I am not sure how that’ll pan out.
eh…ideas?
